Kunsthall Oslo and NARA are proud to present the launch of this new short film – featuring seven of the most influential DJs and club curators from Oslo and Paris playing music and talking about how club culture creates solidarity and challenges norms.
In this intimate and honest roundtable discussion, the participants cover everything from what drives their creative process and what initially made them start DJing, to how music can be a space to express identity, belonging, and resistance; from how they balance the physical and mental pressures of DJ life, to the erotic potential of playing back to back.
Recorded in a salon setting within Ali Gallefoss’ exhibition Decoration and Construction, a total installation where sculptures and handmade furniture merge, the film was shot and edited by Mathias Ingvoldstad.

Participants in the conversation:
Crystallmess, Broodoo Ramses, DJ Nefertiti, dark0wa, Global Drama, as well as Morstaq and Nora Mamdu from NARA. Interviewer: Ifrah Osman.
The title, borrowed from a viral Broad City clip, is definitely one for club lovers. Whether you’re dancing, behind the decks, or working in the club industry, it’s as much a slogan as it is a philosophy: “In da clurb, we all fam.” The conversation reminds us that the club has always been more than just a party. It is a gathering space — and for some, a sanctuary. Participants share experiences from scenes ranging from why they say yes to gigs like Paris Fashion Week, to why they decline Boiler Room invites. They also discuss the expectations they face when booked, and how these are often tied to their identities.
The video also explores how club culture in Paris has historically been shaped by bourgeois structures, and how this legacy is still evident today. The participants express uncertainty about who truly holds power in today’s club scene. This ambiguity points to how old power dynamics still influence who gets access, what music is valued, and which spaces survive.
