Janicke Schønning – The Forest Studio

Sunday 22nd April
Zinoberveien 3
Part of Oslo Open

Since Janicke Schønning moved to Nordmarka in 2010, she has been working out of doors in the forest in all seasons. Rain, frost, earth and river water mark her drawings and paintings; some works are left on the forest floor, to be completed by the contributions of snails, insects and other small creatures. Janicke Schønning studied at Central St. Martins and The Norwegian National Academy of Arts. Her work was recently shown at Kunsthall Oslo in the exhibition The Oslo Museum of Contemporary Art; her recent solo shows include Trafo Kunsthall, Norsk Skogsmuseum, Akerhus Kunstsnter and Tegnerforbundet Oslo.
