Liza Béar is a writer, filmmaker and currently contributing editor at Bomb. Her films and videos, including Oued Nefifik: A Foreign Movie (1982); Earthglow (1983) and Force of Circumstance (1990), have been shown at the Edinburgh Film Festival, Anthology Film Archives, the Festival of the Other Avant-Garde and the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Her short stories have been published in Between C and D and Bomb. She has taught directing at Columbia University, NYU and the School of Visual Arts, and is the author of “Beyond the Frame: Dialogues with World Filmmakers”(Praeger, 2007).
